Yamaha XSR900 Specifications and Expected Price

The 2024 Yamaha XSR900 has been unveiled for worldwide markets. As part of the model year update, the motorbike receives several significant improvements.

To begin with, it receives a new aluminum frame that is touted to give better longitudinal, lateral, and torsional stiffness than the previous one and is more compacted and lighter than the previous one. In addition, the wheelbase is longer and the headstock is lower, giving the steering a sportier and more responsive feel.

Furthermore, Yamaha has changed the appearance from a ’70s-inspired look to an 80s racing look. The rear part, as well as the tank, has been overhauled. Nonetheless, the drilled pieces and LED lighting all around stay the same.

Yamaha XSR900 India Price & Release Date:

In certain places, the Yamaha XSR900 and its smaller sibling, the Yamaha XSR155, have already been released. However, Yamaha is yet to provide any details on the future launch of this sporting heritage bike in India. Engine replacement:

The three-cylinder, in particular, gains 43 cubic centimetres to 889 cubic centimetres. At 10,000 rpm, the longer-stroke engine produces 119 horsepower and 68.6 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm.

Yamaha updated the bike’s exhaust system for a purportedly better sound, as well as a number of internal components, lightening items where feasible. The six-speed gearbox comes with a quickshifter as standard; this is a neo-retro bike, but behind the throwback paint, you’ll find true modern electronics.

New chassis:

New chassis: There’s also a KYB shock. The XSR900 has Yamaha’s new SpinForged wheels, which are lighter than the MT-09’s and are meant to enhance handling. It also gets a new die-cast aluminium Deltabox-style frame, similar to the MT-09. The handlebars are dropped a little to alter up the riding posture, and the swingarm is stretched on that frame. On it’s front brakes, Yamaha installed a radial Brembo master cylinder. This, paired with the redesigned frame and suspension, should enhance handling and braking feel, which is a significant step forward for this neo-retro.

Electronics that is brand new:

More power, better handling—improved electronics are a key third component of this equation. On this bike, Yamaha installed a new six-axis IMU. You now have lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, and slide control thanks to that sensor (for max hooliganism). You also receive a wheelie control option, since motorbike manufacturers have realised the importance of protecting us from our grave errors.

There are four pre-programmed riding modes, as well as cruise control and all-around LED illumination. Yamaha incorporates a 3.5-inch TFT LCD to help you keep track of everything.

Improved braking performance:

Finally, the Brembo radial master cylinder is fitted to the 2024+ XSR900. This model includes a piston that travels parallel to the brake lever, according to Yamaha, providing better feedback and stopping force.

I can’t say much about it other that it’s a major update for the MT-09 after 2021, and it includes the word “Brembo” in it, which is worth mentioning. The callipers of the XSR900 are still made in-house.
